About the course

The PMVA Refresher course is designed for healthcare and care professionals who have previously completed PMVA training. It provides an opportunity to refresh and reinforce the knowledge and skills learned in the initial course. Learners will review de-escalation techniques, safe holding and disengagement methods, and legal frameworks. Through practical scenarios and case studies, they will enhance their ability to apply PMVA principles in real-life situations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Refresh and reinforce knowledge of de-escalation techniques and strategies for preventing and managing violent or aggressive situations.
  • Review and practice safe holding and disengagement techniques in a controlled environment.
  • Update understanding of legal frameworks and policies related to the use of restrictive interventions.
  • Discuss and analyse real-life case studies and scenarios to enhance problem-solving skills.

Course delivery

The training is delivered On-Site. We can deliver customised training directly to your staff. Our Instructor Services team will help tailor the programme to your organisation’s specific needs.

Training room rules

No smoking or drug use is allowed on-site. Violators will be asked to leave, the session will be non-refundable, and a £100 fine may be imposed. Please keep the area tidy by disposing of rubbish in the bins and returning equipment to its original location.
